Andy Warhol ville være fyldt 89 år i dag. Om suppedåserne (der var Warhols claim to fame) lyder det i en ny bog af kuratoren Walter Hopps (via Blake Gopnik):

“I remember asking Andy (Warhol, red.) how he’d describe the paintings. He gave me a funny smile, and he said, ‘I think they’re portraits, don’t you?’ It was an interesting, ambiguous answer—as though he didn’t distinguish between people and things.”
