Fredag 16. september 2016 fra klokken 11.00 til 12.30 er der artist talk med den italienske billedkunstner Michelangelo Pistoletto på Kunsten i Aalborg. Michelangelo Pistoletto regnes for en af de mest betydende personer indenfor kunstretningen Arte Povera.

"Kunsten invites you to an artist talk under the theme ’The Third Paradise’. The artist talk is made possible because of a visit at Kunsten from the world famous Italian artist, Michelangelo Pistoletto, as he is here at the museum to complete his work 'Eleven Less One'.

The artist talk will take place between artist Michelangelo Pistoletto and Senior Curator (kunstfaglig chef, red.) at Kunsten, Stinna Toft, as moderator.

The Third Paradise

The Third Paradise is a comprehensive project that combines art and research in relation to a new humanism defined by unity and respect. With the desire to embrace and consider the situation that the world community face today, Michelangelo Pistoletto recent years have dedicated his art practice to this project that represents the visions of the age that we are entering.

Through a reconfiguration of the mathematical infinity sign, Pistoletto has symbolically visualized The Third Paradise, which is the fusion between the first and second paradise. The first is the paradise in which humans were fully integrated into nature and the second represents the artificial paradise – including science, technology, art, culture and political life – developed by humans. In the ‘New Infinity Sign’ three circles are drawn: the two opposite circles signify nature and artifice; the middle one is the conjunction of the two and represent the generative womb of The Third Paradise and the core of rebirth."

Stinna Toft (f. 1972) har tidligere været overinspektør på HEART - Herning Kunstmuseum. Stinna Toft er cand.mag. i Æstetik & Kultur og Kunsthistorie.
